Brand New Pink Fanta Flavor

i put my hand inside
the vending machine
and pulled out a pink fanta

NEW FLAVOR:
DRAGON FRUIT it said
on its slinky pink label

a pink mark spit itself
onto the back of my hand
stamping pyrrhic victory

my conquest of poison
i drank it by choice
injured myself to sip its fizz
pinkly

i put my hand inside
the vending machine
as if petting a loved one
i hurt

a pink mark on the spot
i touched his hand
my touch poison tough
like love callused

or love callous pink
like my cheeks after a few sips
of something hard

i ripped my hand out
of the vending machine
like it held a heart in its fist
green day cover art
ventricles shooting

hot pink blood in spurts
i unscrewed the heart
and took a tiny sip

i slid my hand
in the vending machine
and rooted around
for something but

all that was left was
nothing, so pink
