Dressmaking for a naked body

harmattan is good for every throat.

that is how to remember water is good for survival.

in a home a neighbour serves a neighbour

water with a broken jar,

everyone learns to place a rock on the chest

& become a rainmaker.

I have left my body naked like a boy running

arms spread in the ebullient waterfall,

begging for the prince's attire to cloth my body.

there I know, a stitched frock coat woven for self

is finer than a royal mantle.

I have mastered every nail hole in my leaking rooftop

& lounged under leafless poplar in the rainy days,

& seen why I begin to learn without coach

how to make a dress for a naked body.
